The project

C/sells is a large showcase in the model region “solar belt across Southern Germany”. The project demonstrates how an intelligent network can ensure supply with solar energy and other renewable energy in a way that is cost effective, secure, environmentally compatible and participatory.

At a project volume of €100 million, more than 60 partners from industry, power industry and science are looking to implement a cellular energy system in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Hesse. devolo AG is taking an active part in this project as a project partner.

C/sells follows the central idea of bringing together many individual actors to form a broad movement in order to jointly advance the energy system transformation.

devolo’s project contribution

  • Realization and demonstration of the control box functionality and associated expansion developments on the components
  • Interoperability with the components involved (sensors, GWA, CLS)
  • Connection of the intelligent measurement system to the C/sells specific infrastructure information system (IIS)

From the project

Participation is the central idea of the project. All C/sells sub-project areas participated with their own teams in the Munich relay marathon on 6 October 2017. In ideal running weather, all C/sells runners successfully completed their course and enjoyed the finish together. Maximilian Arens and Dr. Anil Mengi started for devolo. At the working group meetings, as here at devolo in Aachen, you can literally see the two other guiding principles of C/sells: Cellularity and diversity. The working groups are divided into "cells" and work on various thematic aspects.
